You will also be able to get up close and personal with their warbirds in restoration, including: North American SNJ-4 Texan; Fairchild F-24 Argus; Curtiss C-46 Commando China Doll; Supermarine Spitfire Mk XIVe; and North American PBJ-1J (B-25) To see pictures of various warbirds in flight during the 2005 Air Show, click here.

We welcome the Soaring Society of America again to this year's show. Single and double seat gliders, with wingspans of 20 meters, will be on display. Glider pilots, eager to introduce more people to the sport of soaring, will be on hand to talk with you, perhaps enticing you into an introductory ride at a number of Southern California soaring locations.

Learn to Fly Discovery Center

A new feature in the 2008 Air Expo is the popular Learn to Fly Discovery Center. This is a joint venture by the EAA national organization, the Channel Islands Aviation Flight Center, and the expo sponsor, EAA Chapter 723. The Learn to Fly Discovery Center will provide people 15 years old or older with a chance to learn about the process of learning to fly. This has been an exceptionally popular event at the Air Venture air show in Oshkosh Wisconson. If you are interested in learning to fly, the Discovery center will provide you with the information to get you started and will provide a first introductory simulator lesson.
