Aviation Exhibits

The Commemorative Air Force museum is open during the Air Expo. Visit this wonderful showcase of planes and memorabilia. To see pictures of various warbirds in flight during the 2005 Air Show, click here.

We welcome the Soaring Society of America again to this year's show. Single and double seat gliders, with wingspans of 20 meters, will be on display. Glider pilots, eager to introduce more people to the sport of soaring, will be on hand to talk with you, perhaps enticing you into an introductory ride at a number of Southern California soaring locations.

The members and friends of Chapter 723 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will display outstanding examples of finished and in-construction experimental aircraft. Click on the name of the aircraft to see some representative examples: KIS TR1, Monocoupe, Lancair, Stewart S-51

Learn to Fly Discovery Center

A new feature in the 2008 Air Expo is the popular Learn to Fly Discovery Center. This is a joint venture by the EAA national organization, the Channel Islands Aviation Flight Center, and the expo sponsor, EAA Chapter 723. The Learn to Fly Discovery Center will provide people 15 years old or older with a chance to learn about the process of learning to fly. This has been an exceptionally popular event at the Air Venture air show in Oshkosh Wisconson. If you are interested in learning to fly, the Discovery center will provide you with the information to get you started and will provide a first introductory simulator lesson. Be sure to visit the Discovery Center at the Channel Islands Aviation hanger.

Other Special Exhibits

The Camarillo Air Expo hosts many diverse and exciting non-aviation groups and exhibits.
